Be Known is a web-based diary-keeping and reflection tool. It draws your life as a tree cross-section, one ring per year, and lets you record joys, sorrows and other markers, attach photos and notes, and share a locked, read-only view with someone you trust.

Be Known is not therapy, medical care, or crisis support, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything done under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

Membership costs $9 per month after a seven-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and renews monthly until cancelled.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our own refund commitment is set out in our Refund Policy.

You agree not to misuse Be Known. In particular, you must not:

• use it for any unlawful purpose;
• use it for fraud, spam or impersonation;
• upload content that infringes anyone else's intellectual property or privacy;
• interfere with the security or integrity of the service — no malware, probing, scanning, scraping, or circumventing technical limits;
• reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service.

Your memories, notes and photos are yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, store and process them solely so that we can provide the service to you — including generating the share links you choose to create. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train models.

You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload. If a rights holder contacts us at support@beknown.cloud about content on Be Known, we will review it and may remove it; repeated or serious infringement can end an account.

We retain ownership of Be Known and everything in it other than your content — the software, the ring rendering, the designs, the documentation and the branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under your membership.

We work hard to keep Be Known available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using Be Known and cancel your membership at any time.

If your account ends, you will have a reasonable window to export your memories before they are deleted. You can ask us to delete them sooner at support@beknown.cloud.

These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's jurisdiction, and disputes will be heard by the courts there. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
